Consultation has concluded.
A STURT Reserve upgrade, more footpaths, better play spaces and inviting town entrances are some of the projects planned for the year ahead in Council’s Annual Business Plan for Murray Bridge.
Chief Executive Officer Michael Sedgman said the current economic environment and resulting pressure on communities was taken into consideration during development of the document. “There has been considerable effort made to balance the needs of our communities with sustained investment in infrastructure and services,” he said. “I encourage everyone to read the Annual Business Plan. We are confident that the programs, projects and services planned for the coming year not only contribute to our vision of Thriving Communities but also ensure a sustainable future. “Revenue sources are outlined including the rate revenue Council collects on your behalf.”
The Plan outlines steps towards achieving longer-term goals of the Strategic Plan 2020-24 and focuses on implementing the Riverfront Strategy, Public Toilet Strategy, Playspace Strategy, Footpath Expansion Strategy and continuing beautification of Town Entrances. Ongoing investment in new and existing infrastructure is $14.1m - including $7m in new works. This financially sustainable and significant investment is supported by a planned operating surplus, under-pinned by a modest rates increase.
