Consultation has concluded

Kids of all ages, young and old alike, are being asked to use their imagination and complete a survey to help Council design a purpose built playground at Wellington.
The Rural City of Murray Bridge is asking residents to identify what equipment they’d like to see included in the upcoming Baker Reserve Playground Upgrade, and what the space should look like.

The project is part of the Council’s Outer Towns Program that aims to expand identity enhancement and project delivery from the centre of Murray Bridge into outer townships.
Wellington and Monarto are the first townships in focus this financial year, with other outer townships earmarked for the future.

General Manager City Assets & Infrastructure Heather Barclay encouraged Wellington residents to have their say about what they would like to see built in their community.
“This project sprang from previous consultations and conversations Council representatives had with Wellington residents, where we listened to community aspirations” she said.
“The playground upgrade is one of a number of initiatives in the pipeline to reinvigorate our outer townships, starting with Wellington.
“Rather than Council deciding what we think would work best there we’d like residents to get involved, complete the survey and tell us what they would like to see in their neighbourhood play space and what might best support their community identity.
“If you’d like to see a flying fox, a uniquely shaped climbing structure, Indigenous heritage or any other elements included, fill out the survey and let us know.”

Other Outer Towns Program projects for Wellington include footpath remediation and extension from the children crossing sign to the Wellington Hotel, and town entrance improvements.

The Baker Reserve Playground Upgrade survey closes 5pm Monday 31 October 2022.
