Consultation has concluded
There is an extensive body of scientific research that the earth’s climate is changing. Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice and rising average sea level.
Adaptation will be necessary to address impacts resulting from the warming which is already unavoidable due to past emissions. There is no alternative but to undertake adaptation planning, and building the capacity and flexibility to cope with whatever evolving climate may bring.
Council has resolved to undertake public consultation on the Draft Climate Change Adaptation Plan.
The DraftClimate Change Adaptation Plan has been developed to guide Council in adapting to changing climatic conditions at a Local Government level.
Written comments on the DraftClimate Change Adaptation Plan can be submitted to Council by 5pm on Friday 15 April 2016, addressed to:
PO Box 421, Murray Bridge, SA 5253.
If you have any queries about the DraftClimate Change Adaptation Plan, please contact Council’s Senior Environment Officer, Tony Wilson, on 8539 1442 or email t.wilson@murraybridge.sa.gov.au
Consultation is closed.
