The Rural City of Murray Bridge community is inviting the community to provide feedback on the proposed Community Wastewater Management System (CWMS) Concept Design and Preliminary Designs for Murray Bridge East.
In the 2021/22 financial year, a consultant conducted a feasibility study to explore the development of a CWMS in Murray Bridge East. The study revealed a significant number of onsite wastewater systems in the area were either failing or in poor condition, posing potential public health and environmental risks.
In response to these findings, the Rural City of Murray Bridge has explored the possibility of designing and constructing a CWMS to support local residents. A CWMS is designed to collect, treat, re-use, and/or dispose of wastewater through a network of pipes and pumping stations, transporting the wastewater from individual properties to a treatment site.
The concept designs and preliminary drawings are now being available for the Community to provide feedback. This concept design is not proposed for construction, and if this project was to proceed (following a Council decision), a detailed design would be prepared subject to funding.
*FAQ documents will be updated regularly throughout the consultation
Thank you to everyone who attended the Public Meeting on 26 November. Following the meeting if you have additional feedback or questions about the concept design for the CWMS Murray Bridge East, please email to council@murraybridge.sa.gov.au by close of business on Friday, 20 December 2024.
