Draft IT Asset Management Plan 2025-2029

Project Overview

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is inviting community members to provide feedback on the draft Information Technology (IT) Asset Management Plan 2025–2029, which outlines Council’s strategic approach to managing and investing in its information technology assets over the next four years.

The Plan builds on the previous 2021–2025 IT Asset Management Plan and responds to significant changes in technology, including the increasing use of cloud-based services and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. These technologies play a vital role in supporting Council staff, service delivery and the community’s growing expectations for digital access and efficiency.

With an estimated replacement value of $1.46 million, Council’s IT asset portfolio underpins the delivery of critical services. The Plan focuses on structured lifecycle planning, cost forecasting and risk management to ensure Council’s technology assets remain secure, reliable and financially sustainable.

Key priorities of the Plan include:

  • Maintaining reliable technology that supports essential Council services used by the community

  • Supporting community safety through the ongoing operation, maintenanceand expansion of CCTV systems in public areas and Council facilities

  • Planning for thetimelyreplacement of ageing technology to minimise service disruption and manage costs responsibly

  • Strengthening cybersecurity and protecting Council and community information

  • Supporting improvements to Council’s core business systems and online services, making it easier for residents to access information and services

The Draft IT Asset Management Plan 2025–2029 aligns with Council’s broader strategic and financial planning frameworks, including the Strategic Plan 2024–2028, Community Plan 2016–2032 and Long-Term Financial Plan.

Council values transparency and community input and encourages residents to review the Plan and share their feedback. Community submissions will help inform future decision-making and ensure Council’s digital services continue to meet operational needs and community expectations.
