Council will  conduct further consultation as the project progresses.

Let's Talk Toora Reserve!

Council is inviting you to share your views about the development of Toora Reserve - a new riverfront recreation area for the community.

Toora Reserve is located 12kn upstream from Murray Bridge at the junction of Toora Road and Dean Jaensch Road.
It is largely unused, without safe river access.

This site has been identified by Council for development as a new riverfront recreation are for use by the community. The development of Toora Reserve will alleviate congestion at Thiele, Long Island and Avoca Dell Reserves. In the future Toora will provide a trail head for the Murray Coorong Trail.

The development of Toora Reserve will include new amenities such as picnicking areas, toilets, BBQs, a playground, seating areas, signs, bins and shade. It will be landscaped throughout with areas of irrigated and unirrigated lawn, new native shrubs and tree planting. Existing weeds/willow trees will be removed and the riverbank stabilised. An existing billabong on the site and existing mature trees will be retained for visitor appreciation and habitat protection.

Council has engaged Jensen PLUS to help generate ideas and opportunities for this new community water sport park and you can have your say.

Please provide your feedback via the survey below.

The consultation is open from Saturday 27 January until Monday 12 February 2018.

New facilities for river-based recreation, easy vehicle access and parking will enhance Toora Reserve as a destination for the community and visitors to the region.
