Consultation has concluded

Environmental artist Evette Sunset is hoping that people in Murray Bridge with special memories of the river here can send her stories, information and pictures.

Evette is doing a residency here as part of a Country Arts SA project, “This is a River” which places 10 artists in 7 communities and townships that hug SA’s stretch of the River (see thedirtsa.com.au).

Her special research interest during June is in the small things you notice about the river’s natural system. For example, why is there a 250mm wide yellow water mark band at the base of old reeds? What is the backstory on that? Also river sayings in use, such as “the river has turned” in relation to catching improved fishing conditions.

Please add your story and photos for Evette by completing the SHARE YOUR STORY option below.

Evette’s exhibition The River’s Way will pen at the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery on Sunday 26 July.

She has a website click here to view more details on her work.
