Consultation has concluded

This Development Plan Amendment (DPA) focusses on the Regional Town Centre and seeks to provide better opportunities for economic growth through encouraging the areas where this can occur.

What is a Development Plan Amendment?

A Development Plan Amendment (DPA) is the formal process by which Council updates the zoning contained within its Development Plan, the document which guides development throughout the Council area.

This DPA will strengthen policies regarding public space and aims to make Murray Bridge more pedestrian friendly through encouraging development that promotes landscaping, verandahs and frontages that address the street in order to make the Town Centre a key destination.

How is this happening?

The DPA proposes to extend the existing Regional Town Centre Zone, to the south west along Adelaide Road and further to the south of the existing zone. A number of Policy Areas and Precincts have also been established to assist in managing appropriate development.

The DPA also intends to rezone land between Hindmarsh Road and Old Swanport Road previously zoned Bulky Goods to allow for residential development, as well as formalising Council's car parking fund.

Copies of the full DPA and an information sheet are available from the document library on the right of this screen.

Consultation is now closed.
