Stormwater Management Plan Drop In Sessions

Project Overview

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is progressing work on a Stormwater Management Plan to better understand and plan for stormwater management across the wider Murray Bridge area.

The project forms part of a broader planning program to support Murray Bridge’s growth and help Council plan for the long-term management of its stormwater network and reuse of water.

As the first stage of the process, Council are inviting the community to learn more about the work underway and share their experiences of stormwater behaviour in the area.

Two drop-in information sessions will be held on Wednesday, 21 October 2026 at the Local Government Centre, with the community welcome to attend at either session:

Morning: 12pm to 2pm

Evening: 6pm to 8pm

If you would like to understand what a Stormwater Management Plan is, why Council is developing one and how it could help plan for the future, these sessions are an opportunity to come along and speak directly with the project team.

The team will explain the work completed so far, benefits of the process and invite community members to share their experiences of stormwater behaviour across the area.

The Stormwater Management Plan will consider the wider catchment, including Murray Bridge townships, Murray Bridge East and Gifford Hill.

The current stage of work is focused on understanding the catchment incorporating local experiences. Feedback gathered will help the project team complete the analysis of the catchment before progressing to the next stages.

The final stormwater plan will consider stormwater management, flood mitigation, water quality, stormwater reuse and long-term infrastructure planning. An endorsed plan will also help Council pursue funding opportunities for future stormwater infrastructure aligned with the plan.
