Feedback collected from community and river users at local waterfront reserves and online over summer was considering when creating the Plan and the resulting draft is now out for public consultation until 5pm Monday 1 June 2020.
All Rural City of Murray Bridge riverfront reserves received a detailed assessment of existing characteristics and future potential in development of the Plan – the document contains findings and detailed analysis for each location.
Key recommendations include establishing new water-based recreation hubs at the north end (Toora Reserve) and the south end of the river (Swanport Reserve or closer to Long Island), progressive development of Sturt Reserve and an unpowered hub in the region.
The Plan also points to the development of riverfront reserves, establishing a Personal Watercraft Activity Zone, improved facility and activity communications, and in principle support for other private water-based recreation ventures.
