This Public Consultation has now closed.

A proposed public art project for Carey's Park Mannum Road Murray Bridge.

This potential project has been proposed by local composer and sound artist Jesse Budel in collaboration with the Rural City of Murray Bridge.

The concept involves installing a variety of aged and derelict pianos, gradually degrading and being reclaimed by natural environmental processes. Over time this decay will effect the structure and appearance of the instruments and, as a result, the sounds produced.

It is proposed the sanctuary be situated in Carey's Park - the road reserve between Mannum Road and the parallel service road. Pianos will be intermingled with native vegetation and situated on concrete plinths, providing a stable base for the instruments.

Members of the public would be allowed to freely play the pianos, allowing them to investigate the unique appearance and sounds of each piano as they change in the natural environment.
